Gastroenterology
What is a Gastroenterologist?
A gastroenterologist is a physician who is trained in internal medicine and who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the digestive system. The digestive system includes the esophagus, stomach, small and large intestine or colon, liver, pancreas and gallbladder. Gastroenterologists also have expertise in Digestive Wellness maintenance, such as advising patients about colon cancer screening and prevention.
The physicians at our practice have highly-specialized training in endoscopy procedures of the digestive tract. A complete gastrointestinal evaluation may include specialized studies in addition to a thorough interview and physical examination. X-rays, labs, and other procedures may be ordered and reviewed to assist in evaluating your digestive and liver health.
