Every physician on our team has completed advanced fellowship training in gastroenterology and is either Board Certified or Board Eligible. Our nursing and technical staff receive extensive hands-on training, annual evaluations, and specialty certifications to ensure you're supported every step of the way. From your first visit to your follow-up care, we've built our team to deliver the safest, most compassionate care possible.

Physician Qualifications

At Gastroenterology Consultants, every physician on our team has completed advanced, fellowship-level training in gastroenterology and endoscopy. Each is either Board Certified or Board Eligible, ensuring they meet rigorous national standards for specialty care.

To maintain the highest level of safety and accuracy, our physicians:

  • Complete ongoing quality improvement reviews
  • Participate in peer review programs
  • Benchmark their outcomes against national colonoscopy and endoscopy quality indicators, such as adenoma detection rate and cecal intubation rate
  • Track and evaluate patient outcomes across all procedures performed at our endoscopy centers

Our medical leadership is built on excellence—not just in clinical skill, but in a shared dedication to improving your experience, comfort, and results.

Staff Qualifications

Our nursing and technical staff play a critical role in ensuring your care is safe, comfortable, and efficient. From pre-procedure preparation to post-procedure recovery, each member of our team is trained to provide attentive, personalized support.

Registered Nurses (RNs)

Our RNs typically join our team with two or more years of experience in high-acuity hospital settings like surgery, the emergency department, or ICU.

Each RN completes:

  • A comprehensive onboarding program specific to gastroenterology and endoscopy
  • Annual competency-based training and evaluation
  • Care ratios of 1 RN per patient in the procedure room and 1 RN for every 2–3 patients in pre/post areas

Endoscopy Technicians

Every endoscopy technician at our centers receives:

  • Initial and ongoing training in anatomy, infection control, equipment use, and patient handling
  • Cross-training to assist with procedures and maintain the highest standards for safety and hygiene
  • Many of our technicians come to us with prior EMT certification or other healthcare experience

Lead Endoscopy Technicians

Each center is supported by a certified Lead Technician with credentials from:

  • The Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates (SGNA) as a GI Technical Specialist
  • The Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD)

Their training includes advanced modules in anatomy, patient care, sterilization, risk management, and safety protocols.

Processing Technicians

Technicians who specialize in equipment sterilization complete an additional training track focused on:

  • Advanced infection control techniques
  • Documentation and recordkeeping
  • Endoscope reprocessing best practices

Annual re-certification and performance reviews ensure our team stays up to date with evolving safety guidelines.
